I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to transmit to you, herewith, for the information of the Secretary of State the enclosed copy of a letter dated the 19th January last, from Messrs Brochin & Co., bankers, and another dated the 26th instant (with regard to the effects of her deceased husband, late master of the "Veronica,") and to request that you will instruct the Governor of Hongkong to take no further steps on the exparte order, made by the Registrar of the Supreme Court in that Colony, of the effects of the estate of certain loans, which would appear to have been placed in his charge.
